Latest Update 2nd September 2009
Firstly apologies for the lack of recent updates. A combination of an incredibly heavy work load and as usual the sever lack of feedback have made things difficult, however here goes.
Cantelupe
Speaking to our Treasurer Mark Leach on Sunday it appears that the main river at Cantelupe has been fishing quite well. Mark himself had a 9lb net of Roach fishing over groundbait, later on feeding Caster and Hemp for some better quality fish. One or two Chub have been coming out to anglers who have adopted a more roving approach.
Reservoir
We have taken delivery of a new stock of small Carp which seems to have kicked the lake into life. Approximately 200 Mirrors and Commons between 3inches and 3lbs were stocked a few weeks ago. Andrew Peters and Graham Monk had a rewarding few hours a couple of weeks back landing Carp, Tench, Perch and Roach from pegs on the Southern bank. Other anglers are catching from swims in the twenties, don't ignore the other 3 corners though!
Please make sure we treat all the fish from this venue with care (as we would the other venues!). These new fish are in fantastic condition, lets try and keep them that way.
To try and dispel a rumor that has been subject to a sever dose of 'Chinese Whispers', no fish have been removed from our Reservoir, we have only had more put in....... .
Reservoir Access
Can our members please use the correct access/egress routes to and from our Reservoir. A recent incident has occurred when one member decided to take a short-cut and was caught doing this. This will not be tolerated in future, you have been warned.
And finally.....
The Reservoir will be closed on Sunday 20th September for a club match. If any member would like to take part please email Graham Monk via the link on the Match page.
Interested in joining the fishing club?
If you are interested in joining the fishing club drop me an email. Please note that the agents who sell our club books will not give out the combinations to the locked gates on the site so if you'd like to have a look at our waters before joining let me know. If you're caught looking round them without permission you will technically be trespassing, you have been warned.
Right. A sample of the cracking Roach
that were stocked into Bourn Brook in 2008.
